Mr Nandivarman, are you for real? DMK is part of the ruling party and is calling Bandh against it's own goverment! Bandh itself is illegal. My right to work unhindered superseds any state's right to prevent me working. My advise to you: Get a real job, you might even become wiser!

Nandivarman - this forum is a bit more intelligent than members of your party, so your rhetorics will be trashed here. Better stop posting here to avoid embarassment. BTW, why did you go on a self imposed exile from 1978-1996? Did the DMK guys kick you out?

Whom are you trying to cheat? What was the need of the Bandh at the first instance and what is the logic of the ruling party calling for Bandh?

Just because there is no provision in constitution, does not make every illegal activity as legal. The Framers of constitution would have never dreamt of such shameful things happening in political india and it is a shame you people are trying to come out and support in the name of people's will.

Where were you when the people through SMS votes wanted Abdul Kalam as the next president and your parties went on to boot lick the congress. Where was people's wish then?

First ask your MK to get his MPs out of the Government and then call for the BAndh against the central Government. Shame on you people who want to stick to power at any cost but want to do political stunts in the name of bandhs causing all inconvenience to common man.

regards

I know in many issues we are divided in Tamilnadu (or India). Those come out of our ideological position or our understanding of what is good/bad for our society and what is right/wrong such as -- theism Vs atheism, pro-reservation vs anti-reservation, capitalism vs communism, anti-conversion vs religious freedom and also divisions created solely for political purposes such as communalism vs pseudo-secularism etc and we can see people taking sides. However, I cant quite understand why anyone would support this bandh. Supreme court is absolutely right that forced bandhs are unconstitutional. It is detrimental to all sections of people. The worst affected are, as Soleswaran pointed out, poor daily wage workers. I mention it here because all political parties in TN, and more so the dravidian parties, show themselves as champions of poor people. Despite all this, people allow themselves to be hijacked by politicians with vested interests and see this issue as "US vs THEM" like the author who portrays this as a Tamilnadu Vs India issue, which in turth this is only a single person's ego vs people issue. It just shows our people's intellectual level and one shudders to think that "we" are the supreme power.

Mr Nandhivarman, people elected Laloo and he corrupted Bihar.People elected sibu soren and he did murder. So your message is MLAs,MPs,Govt who are elected by people can do any criminal activities and court should not ask them anything. Is that rite?

In this DMK-Bandh case judges have given honest opinion to protect individual citizen's rights

Who are affected by bandh?
ordinary shop owners, daily wage workers etc... whose lively hood depends every day earnings.
If Mr Karunanidhi wants to show some way of protest then ,
1)He can close Kalaignar Tv for 1 month
2)He can donate his entire properties to govt
3)He can ask all DMK ministers to resign from central govt.

He won't do these beacuse it affects his family's luxurious livelyhood. So he announced bandh which affects ordinary tamilnadu citizens and not his family.
